Your FAM Trips & Vacations
By following the 3-3-4 strategy you can easily leverage every trip you take, and every piece of content you create, to get more IDEAL clients. This strategy will be much easier to implement if you’ve completed your Core Curriculum in the Academy, however, we don’t recommend waiting until then. Get started using this strategy for your next trip and simply implement to the best of your ability. Something is better than nothing.
After you complete your Core Curriculum you’ll have all the pieces in place and the knowledge to quickly and easily execute this strategy to the fullest.
Here’s How To Do It:
3 Categories
Break your trip up into 3 categories. Generally speaking the best 3 categories for most trips are: Accommodations, Sites, Food.
3 Articles
Write a short fun article about each category. So, you’re writing 3 short articles, one on each category. Name your series. For example, if you’re taking a FAM Trip to Milan, you could simply name it: The Special Milan Series or Behind-the-Scenes in Milan Special Series
At the end of each article include a clear and compelling call-to-action (CTA) inviting readers to schedule a complimentary Vacation Planning Session with you.
If possible, include a short video in each of the three articles. Take footage from your trip (you don’t need special camera equipment, you can even just record the videos with your phone on-site while on your FAM Trip or vacation). Ideally you would have 1 to 3 videos on food (show behind-the-scenes in the kitchen if you can!), 1 to 3 videos on accommodations (show the different room types, butler service, etc.), and 1 to 3 videos on sites (experiences, tours, adventures).
At the end of each video include your clear and compelling call-to-action for people to book with you and make it easy for them to take action. Ideally give them a short URL that links to your online scheduler and keep it up on the screen for at least 5 seconds at the end of the video. Be sure to capitalize the first letter of each word. Or, instead of directing people straight to your online scheduler, you could direct them to a page on your website which features your complimentary planning session and links to your online scheduler.
Include each video in the corresponding article, which will live on your blog.
Leveraged 5 Ways
#1 Host each of your videos on YouTube and SEO them. Follow the YouTube SEO SOP that we provide you here in the academy so that your videos show up in people’s YouTube feeds and on Google which gets you more exposure to prospective clients and brings more people to your website.
#2 Post each article with the corresponding video(s) on your blog, each as separate blog posts. Each article is one blog post (embed all of the videos related to that article in the post). SEO each blog post following the SEO SOP we provide you here in the academy so that each blog post brings new traffic/people to your website.
#3 Send out each article as a eNewsletter issue and link it to the corresponding blog post so they can watch the video(s).
#4 Market this new special series about your trip on all of your social media channels (both personal and business channels – your friends will love to see it too and may share it with their friends who might be good clients for you).
For each of your blog posts, craft a short social media post that gets people excited to read more and that links to the blog post (think of your social media post as the appetizer that whets their appetite for the full meal which is the article and video(s) posted on your blog. In general, for most travel agents it’s best to post on Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok and to put your videos on both IG Reels and Insta Stories. Review your social media module for details.
