Print Ads

If you are being featured in a printed publication, often times the publication will offer you discounted ad space adjacent to your coverage. If the price is reasonable and affordable for you, take advantage of their offer (this is generally best type of print ad you can buy).

Another great opportunity is when you have a well-circulated in your area that offers low cost ad space, and the ability to print an article adjacent to your ad.

Generally the best types of publications to run print ads in are small local publications because the ad price is low, the distribution is generally good, and people who read those publications generally enjoy hiring people locally in order to support their local economy.

You could pitch them a story idea on eating healthy while traveling, or exercising while traveling, or getting restful sleep while traveling, or something like that. And then offer to purchase 6 months worth of ad space if they run your story (or a variation of your story), or if they interview you and print it. Often times small publications will take you up on that offer if you have a good unique story idea because they need to sell ad space AND they need to run good stories.

IMPORTANT: When running ads, you need to run in a minimum of three consecutive issues to see results. Most advertising experts will recommend running in every issue for 4-6 months before determining if the ad is producing a sufficient ROI (return on investment).

When running print ads, consider partnering up with another agent. Split the cost of the ads and share the leads.

TIPS FOR RUNNING ADS

#1: Focus your ad on getting readers to your squeeze page to download your IFO. People seeing your print ad are ice-cold leads. Most likely they are not going to pick up the phone and schedule with you until after you warm them up. The best way to get them take action and warm them up, is to offer them your IFO.

#2: Include your phone and email in the ad. There may be a person or two who is ready to schedule with you. Provide your contact info to make it easy for them.

#3: Include your headshot in your ad. Readers will feel more comfortable and connected to you if they can see you. This will increase the number of readers who go to your squeeze page and download your IFO.
