Top Tech Habits To Get
The Most Of The MTE Vault

Welcome to the world of modern marketing training, tools and resources.

On this page, you’ll find simple computer practices we recommend you implement ASAP to ensure your experience is frustration free.

1. Use the Right Browser

We strongly recommend using Firefox or Chrome as your default browser for accessing the MTE Vault.

Safari is fine as a third option, but please stay away from Internet Explorer – it won’t give you the best user experience. Also, make sure you have the most up-to-date version of your browser. Trust us, it will keep your entire digital life running faster and smoother.

2. Best Practices For PDFS

Regardless of what computer, operating system, or browser you are using, our PDFs work best with Adobe Reader (It’s free!) as it allows you to type directly into the document and save your work.

While most computers are set-up to open a downloaded PDF in Adobe Preview, this program doesn’t create the best user experience. Simply close that version and then re-open the PDF using Adobe Reader. We also don’t recommend that you open the PDFs in your web browser as you won’t be able to save your work that way.

3. Best Practices For PDFs Continued

If you don’t have Adobe Reader yet, you can get it for free here. Please make sure you’re using the most recent version. Reader will generally work for any of the editable marketing materials we provide throughout the Academy. Adobe does not always push through updates automatically or send notifications about new versions, so when in doubt definitely double check your version!

As a final step, you can set up Adobe Reader as the default choice for PDF downloads. For Apple/Mac instructions, visit this site and if you are working on a PC, check out this article

4. Log Out When You’re Done

We recommend logging out each time you leave the website. You can have your computer or device save your username and password so that logging back in is quick and easy for you. You’ll have a much better user experience if you log out each time- especially if you are accessing this site on different devices (such as a tablet, computer, and your phone).

5. Having a Tech Difficulty? Clear your Cache!

We’ve found that many technical glitches can be easily fixed by simply clearing your browser cache. There’s no need for you to proactively do this unless you experience difficulties, but if you do, try logging out of the system first, closing any browser windows, and then clearing your cache.

Another great bonus is that clearing your cache help your computer run even faster. Here’s a WikiHow that includes instructions for multiple browsers and systems.

6. Improve your Tech Skills!

We live in a fast-paced, tech-driven world where keeping your skills sharp is more important than ever. One fantastic resource that makes this easier is LinkedIn Learning (formerly Lynda.com).

LinkedIn Learning helps you stay ahead of the curve by allowing you to dive into technology, creative, and business courses. Whether you’re looking to build new skills or improve existing ones, you’ll find courses that can immediately impact your personal and professional growth.

You can easily search for tutorials, guides, and training on any topic you need with a quick Google search. But when it comes to structured, high-quality courses designed for real-world use, LinkedIn Learning is a valuable tool to help you grow your skills in a way that sticks.
